Volbeat leader Poulsen is overcome by the band's momentum in 2013. Here's his thanks to the Volbeat fans

Dansk version

In Michael Poulsens own words:

"It seems like it's getting more and more crazy for us every day – actually since the early days of the band!"

It's a proud bandleader who for the first time comments on the fact that the Danish rockers have just been nominated for an American Grammy in "the best metal performance" category. Thanks to the song "Room 24". A song with a guest appearance by the legendary King Diamond.

The song can obviously be found on Volbeat's latest hitalbum "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies".

Volbeat has been nominated side by side with legends and metal mainstays like Anthrax, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater and the mighty Black Sabbath.

"As I said; it's getting more and more crazy for us every day. And now a US Grammy nomination," comments Michael Poulsen.

"It is an honor to be on the list with such great legendary bands as much at it was an honor to work with King Diamond."

He continues:

"And now that we're thanking people: Thanks to our fans, friends and family for the massive support through the years, because without you buying our records, supporting our shows and pushing the radio stations we would not have come this far.

Dear fans: Should we ever be the owners of a Grammy, then we would kindly and respectfully like to transform it into millions of pieces and share it with you all."

To stay with Michael's terminology 2013 has been another "crazy" year in the life of Volbeat.

They've played 133 shows worldwide this year and their latest album "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies" has since its' release in the spring sold over 500.000 copies.

So it really is no wonder if the boys feel it's time to celebrate.

"Let's celebrate this nomination and the most amazing year together," says Michael.

"You rock! Cheers!"
